Outlook Tip: Write an Email to be Delivered at a Future Time

by | Apr 23, 2015 | Security

This quick tip is awesome for any multitasking attorney. If your short on time and want to write up an email now for a future time, Outlook lets you defer delivery until later very easily.

To do this, first write your email. Then switch to the Options tab and click Delay Delivery. This opens a windows with a “Do not deliver before:” field; enter a date and time, then click Close.

After you hit Send, the message will be held on the mail server until the specified time for sending. If you’re using an Exchange server, you can now close Outlook; if you’re using POP or IMAP you’ll have to leave Outlook open until the specified time for delivery has passed.

As CEO of Rekall Technologies, I’ve been helping small business owners simplify their technology since 2011. Over the years, I’ve seen firsthand how IT becomes frustrating, time-consuming, and a constant distraction from running a business. That experience is what drove me to build Rekall differently. I didn’t want clients adjusting their businesses to fit their IT—I built services that adapt to how real businesses actually operate. My philosophy is simple: technology should be secure, stable, and effectively invisible. When IT is done right, it stays out of the way and gives you the freedom to focus on your clients, your team, and growing your business with confidence.
