Your Firm’s Online Presence, Getting a Site Up and Running

by | Jun 20, 2014 | Security

These days, almost everyone has a website. Your mom might. Your next door neighbor… Certainly your firm needs to have one too. If you don’t have a website, you’re almost definitely missing out on business. Considering that getting a website up and running is both easy and affordable – especially with Rekall’s help – the time to act is now.
WordPress is a website option that is easy to work with. You can choose from templates that look nice and then plug in and edit content yourself. Rekall uses WordPress and so do lots of businesses we know. It’s popular for a reason.

When you’re ready to get yourself online, the first thing you need to do is sign up for web hosting and obtain a domain name. HostGator is the site that lawyerist.com recommends for hosting. When you go to check out for your hosting, you will get to choose a domain name. We recommend that you do this carefully and wisely. A good domain name is crucial!

Installing and setting up WordPress couldn’t be easier. You’ll just follow the on screen prompts and reach out to Rekall if you get stuck. Then it’s time to add your content. Make sure that your website has an introductory front page, a bio, and contact information. Those are key ingredients without which you might as well not have a site at all. After that, it’s time to get good information up on your site. That information should be well-written, interesting, and timely. Piece of cake, huh? You might want to invest in a copywriter to help you out with some content. Rekall can even help you out there.

Finally, you’ll need to design your site so that the look and feel (branding) matches that of your firm. Again, you might find yourself pretty good at this and enjoying the design work, or you might want to hire someone to help you out.

That’s getting a website up and running 101. Give us a call when you’re ready to make a move.

I've been working with law firms for many years simplifying their technologies while offering them the very best services & support. The model that I have created is based on the reality that IT sucks, and frankly, no one likes it. My experience tells me that this is especially true for law firms. In coming to that realization years ago I had to change the way I did business. Among many other services that we had to offer, in order to cater to law firms specifically, we had to become invisible and that's exactly what we have accomplished.
